A short history
Waltham Forest was formed in 1965 from Chingford, Leyton and Walthamstow. The designer William Morris was born in Walthamstow in 1834, and his family home is now the William Morris Gallery. Chingford sits on the edge of Epping Forest and has a Tudor hunting lodge associated with Elizabeth I.
