A short history of Bermondsey
Bermondsey grew around a medieval abbey founded in the 11th century. By the 19th century it was the centre of London’s leather trade, with so many tanneries that it was known as the land of leather. Our workshop on Willow Walk is here, close to Tower Bridge.
